Welcome back to the Summer term, I hope you are all rested and the children are looking forward to beginning our new topic. Our topic this term, is called Under The Sea.

Please find useful information below about our class routines and coverage of the curriculum for the term.

 School Bag Request

I would kindly ask that within their school bag they have a book bag, that they bring into school everyday with the reading record and reading book that has been allocated to them. They should also have a bottle of water, snack box and packed lunch box if they are not having school dinners.  Everything should be clearly named.

Homework will be given to the children on a Friday and it MUST be completed by Wednesday. For both year 2 and year 3 this will be in the form of one piece of maths that has been allocated to them via Mathletics. The children are expected to read at least THREE times a week.

Spellings will be handed out to children on the Friday after the rule/strategy has been taught in class that day. They will have their spelling test the following Friday.  I will upload spellings to this page on a Friday, the children will also receive a paper copy.

P.E will be on a Tuesday 10.45-11.45 and Wednesday 14.20-15.00; please ensure correct P.E kit is brought into school. Please ensure all kit is clearly named.

They must have;

  • Leigh Primary School red top
  • Black shorts
  • Trainers
  • Plimsoles
  • (To wear school jumper when it is cold)

Forest School

Please ensure that your child brings in warm clothes and are appropriately dressed for the weather that day. Children MUST have a pair of wellies in school to wear. Please do not provide them with clothing that you are unhappy to get muddy or dirty. Forest school is all about getting muddy!

A Final Note

I hope your child has the most enjoyable year but if there is ever a concern with their social or academic needs please do not hesitate to contact the school through the office or by emailing me. I am of course available to talk in the morning and afternoons during drop off and pick up times too.
